The Upper Grand District School Board is spreading the word about hands on learning through TV advertising.

The Specialist High Skills Major Program is an educational curriculum aimed at students who benefit from a much more hands on learning experience.

The curriculum is tailored to students in their 11^th and 12^th year, and offers a vast array of courses to choose from, including: Agriculture, Business, Construction, The Environment, Manufacturing, Transportation as well as Hospitality & Tourism.

The Specialist High Skills Major Program invites students to engage themselves in a learning style unlike other theoretical classes. Students get the opportunity to experience a real occupation with an exciting co-up placement within the industry. These co-up placements allow students to get a sense of the real world, and can help them to make a more educated decision on the profession or career path they will embark on after high school.
